Social Charter with Branston Community Academy

Newland Partners are Enterprise Advisors for Greater Lincolnshire LEP.
Our commitment as Enterprise Advisors saw us matched with a local secondary school, Branston Community Academy, supporting Careers Lead, Julie Thompson. We were responsible for being a critical friend and coach to support the Academy’s careers provision work towards their commitment to Gatsby Benchmarks in Careers Guidance. The aim being to bring valuable insights from an employers perspective to the table.
Having been a difficult year, we wanted to bring something of value to the students of Branston Community Academy. So we made ourselves available for Careers week 2021 and set up a 7 week programme for Year 11’s on Talent & Selection which ran from November 2021 – January 2022.
During Careers Week we introduced students to Insights Self Awareness and it’s methodology, and the value of self-awareness and emotional intelligence as their careers begins.
Talent & Selection Sessions were delivered to all year 11 students which highlighted how to prepare for recruitment & selection processes, what to focus on, and the type of processes that employers use when selecting talent.
It has been an absolute pleasure to partner with Julie and her team this last year and we look forward to continuing to support Julie in reaching the benchmarks in the coming months.
